How to choose between Zebra's SE4710 scan engine and Honeywell's 5703 scan engine, which one best suits your needs?
First of all, these two scan engines belong to the same level in terms of performance.
The scanning distance is basically within 40 centimeters.
But there are still some functional differences between them.
The following is an introduction to the differences in their use,
Zebra SE4710 Scan Engine
When working, a red light is projected,
Its aiming point is a dark red dot
And Honeywell’s N5703 scan engine
When working, a white light is projected.
Its aiming point is a red laser line aiming
Many users use it in environments where there is not enough light.
The red fill light of Zebra's SE4710 scan engine may feel a little dazzling after long-term use.
This is a factor to consider.
We may encounter products with multiple barcodes and QR codes on one label.
So how do we scan the QR code or barcode I need accurately and quickly?
Because the 2D scanning engine is a picture collection, and then uses the built-in processor to identify the QR code or barcode in the picture.
During the recognition process, if the alignment position is not accurate enough, the scanned barcode or QR code will not be the one you need most at that time.
In response to this situation, based on Honeywell's hardware features, we developed a switch function in our setting software that enables recognition after entering the center point of the QR code or barcode through the aiming box.
If we do not set this function separately,
The 2D scanning engine may cause you to press the scan button
It will prioritize the information it grabs first and read it.
In this way, it may happen that the QR code or barcode scanned is not the one you need at that time.
But if we turn on the precise center point scanning function, this situation will be greatly reduced.
The scan engine of Honeywell N5703 has a cross aiming point
Only when the aiming point is in the center of the QR code or barcode,
Only then will it identify and read the corresponding information.
This results in accurate scanning.
Which QR code or barcode do you need to read?
It will identify which one.
