What areas are the RFID tags divided into?

Tag memory (tag memory) is divided into Reserved (reserved), EPC (electronic product code), TID (tag identification number) and User (user) four independent storage blocks (Bank).

 

①Reserved area: store Kill Password (inactivation password) and Access Password (access password).

 

②EPC area: store EPC number, etc.

 

③TID area: store the tag identification number, each TID number should be unique.

 

④User area: store user-defined data. In addition, the Lock (lock) status bits of each block are also storage units.

 

 

EPCC1G2 tag memory

The tag memory is logically divided into four storage areas, and each storage area can be composed of one or more memory words. The four storage areas are:

 

1.EPC area (EPC): The area where the EPC number is stored. This reader can store a maximum of 15 characters of the EPC number. Readable and writable.

 

2.TID area (TID): stores the ID number set by the label manufacturer. Currently, there are two ID numbers of 4 characters and 8 characters. Readable, not writable.

 

3.User area (User): This area is different for different manufacturers. Inpinj's G2 labels do not have a user area. Philips company has 28 characters. Readable and writable.

 

4.Reserved area (Password): the first two words are the kill password, and the last two words are the access password. Readable and writable.

 

All four memory areas can be write-protected. Write protection means that this area can never be written or cannot be written in a non-safe state; read protection only the password area can be set to read protection, that is, it cannot be read.
