Warranty Policy

Rayoungtek builds rugged Android enterprise mobile computers, barcode scanners, RFID readers, and accessories for demanding industrial environments. This policy describes the limited hardware warranty that accompanies your device and how to request service.

1. Warranty Coverage

Product category Limited warranty period
Main devices (mobile computers, rugged tablets, barcode scanners) 12 months (1 year) from delivery date
Accessories (battery, charger, cradle, cable, hand strap) [6 months] from delivery date

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, and hardware functional failures that are not caused by misuse. The warranty period begins on the delivery date confirmed by the carrier's tracking record and is not extended by repair or replacement.

2. What Is NOT Covered

The warranty does not apply to:

  • Damage from accident, drop, crush, liquid ingress, fire, or exposure beyond the device's rated specifications.
  • Unauthorized repair, modification, or disassembly.
  • Normal wear and tear (for example, cosmetic scratches, worn keypads, degraded battery capacity within rated cycle life).
  • Consumables (for example, printable labels, thermal paper, stylus tips).
  • Software, firmware, or configuration issues that are not hardware defects.
  • Use contrary to the product manual or intended operating environment.
  • Units with a missing, altered, or illegible serial number.
  • Claims submitted after the applicable warranty period.

3. Warranty Period & Start Date

The warranty starts on the delivery date recorded by the carrier and lasts for the period shown in Section 1. Proof of purchase (order number) is required to verify eligibility.

4. Damaged on Arrival (DOA) & Early Failure

If a device arrives physically damaged or non-functional, report it within 48 hours of delivery with package photos, the shipping label, and clear damage photos — handled under our Return & Refund Policy at no cost to you. For failures that appear within the first 7 days of normal use, we prioritize diagnosis and will replace or repair under warranty with return shipping covered by Rayoungtek.

5. Warranty Claim Process

  1. Contact Support. Email support@rayoungtek.com with your order number, device serial number, a description of the failure, and supporting photos or video.
  2. Receive RMA. Our team issues a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and shipping instructions. Claims without a valid RMA number may be refused or delayed.
  3. Ship the Unit. Pack the device securely, write the RMA number clearly on the outside, and ship via a trackable method to the address we provide. Back up and erase all data first (see Section 7).
  4. Diagnosis. On receipt, we inspect and diagnose the unit to confirm whether the failure is covered. This typically takes 2–3 business days after we receive the device.
  5. Repair or Replace. For covered defects, we repair or replace the unit at our discretion. Replacement units may be new or refurbished to working specification and are functionally equivalent.

6. Shipping Costs for Warranty

Situation Shipping cost
Confirmed warranty defect (return to us) Customer ships to Rayoungtek
Confirmed warranty defect (replacement to you) Covered by Rayoungtek
DOA / failure within first 7 days Covered by Rayoungtek (both directions)
Claim denied (not covered / out of warranty) Customer responsible

7. Data Removal

Rayoungtek mobile computers and tablets store business and personal data. Before returning any device for warranty service, you are responsible for backing up and permanently erasing all data. Rayoungtek is not responsible for any data loss, exposure, or breach arising from units received for service.

8. Serial Number Requirement

The serial number on the device must match our order and warranty records. Units with missing, altered, or removed serial numbers cannot be serviced under warranty and may be returned to the customer.

9. Replacement Warranty

A repaired or replaced unit is covered for the longer of the remaining original warranty period or 90 days from the date of replacement, at no additional cost.

10. Limitations of Liability

This limited warranty is your exclusive remedy for hardware defects. Rayoungtek is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you. This policy does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
